OSCAR PISTORIOUS - THE NEW FACE OF A*MEN
The Johannesburg-born champion sprinter, who lost both his feet when he was a child, is known as the "blade runner".
According to the Thierry Mugler brand, which is owned by Clarins, 25 year old Pistorious was chosen to represent A*Men because "he opens the way for a new style of modern hero: an atypical personality which asserts itself beyond everything one could have imagined - it is in perfect adequacy to the vision of Thierry Mugler".
Pistorius appears in stunning 15 and 30 second online videos directed by Ali Mahdavi in which he can be seen sprinting clutching a bottle of A*Men.
His legs and carbon fibre artificial limbs are coated in a futuristic chrome cladding designed by Mugler and Stefano Canulli.
Launched in 1996, A*Men for men is described as "a spicy, oriental woody perfume, both intense and full of charisma".
Pistorious, who was born with a congenital disorder in both legs and had them amputated below the knees when he was 11 months old, is a triple world record holder and triple Paralympic champion in the 100, 200 and 400 meters.
His sporting motto is: "You're not disabled by the disabilities you have, you are able by the abilities you have."
